Why the cheapest price isn't always cheapest
A $24 serum with $10.50 postage costs more than a $26 one that ships for $6.95. On a single item, postage is often the biggest difference between stores — bigger than the price gap itself.
Free-shipping lines change the sums again. If you were going to buy a cleanser next month anyway, adding it now can cost less than the postage you'd pay without it.
Ways to pay less
Buy from one store at a time. Splitting an order across three shops to save a dollar on each item usually means paying postage three times.
Use the Haul tool. Add what you want and it works out which store, or which combination of stores, costs least with postage and free-shipping lines included.
Check the stores' own pages before you pay. Rates change, and some stores run free-shipping promotions we don't see.
Common questions
- Is free shipping worth padding an order for?
- Only with things you'd buy anyway. Spending $20 extra to save $8 in postage is a saving only if you were going to spend that $20 soon regardless.
- Why are some stores missing?
- We only list rates we've checked against the store's own shipping page. If a store's policy couldn't be read clearly, we leave it out rather than guess.
