How the price index is made.

Dewbirdy reads publicly available product and price information from the stores listed in the store index. A listing is kept with its store name, product URL, displayed price, currency, stock signal, and the time it was last checked.

The catalogue is a price index, not a store checkout. Product pages link to the retailer so you can confirm the final price, shipping, tax, size, and availability before buying.

An in-stock price is one the store reported as available when we checked it. Stores differ in how clearly they expose stock, and some do not report an out-of-stock state reliably. A product can sell out between our check and your visit, so the retailer’s own page is always the final source.

The main comparison uses listings priced in AUD, marked in stock, and matched to the same product and size. A product is worth comparing when at least two Australian stores carry it under those conditions.

Overseas listings may be shown separately with an approximate AUD conversion. They do not win the cheapest badge because international shipping, GST, and checkout currency may change the amount you pay.

“Last checked” is the most recent time a listing on the page was read, not a promise that the store has not changed since then. Prices and stock can change daily.
