If you ask us to add a store or product

The request form stores what you type — the store or product name, the website address, and your note — along with your email address if you choose to give one. The email is optional and is used for one thing: telling you if what you asked for gets added. It is never used for marketing, never sold, and never passed to a store or anyone else.

We do not record your IP address, browser or any identifier alongside a request. The form is rate-limited to stop automated spam, and that limit works from a temporary value held in memory which is never written down and is gone when the server restarts.

Ask us to delete your request and its email address at any time and we will.

No analytics, no advertising cookies

This site loads no analytics, no advertising tags and no third-party scripts of any kind, and sets no cookies. Nobody is being tracked across the web from here.

Your haul list stays in your browser

The haul feature keeps the products you add in your own browser’s local storage, not on our servers. Pricing a haul does put the product numbers in the page address so the total can be worked out and the link shared — which is only a list of product numbers, tied to no person. Clearing your browser data clears the list.

Server logs

Like any website, our servers record ordinary request logs — the page requested, the time, the browser’s user agent and IP address. They exist to keep the site running and secure, are not combined with anything else, are not used to build a profile, and are kept only briefly.

When you click through to a store

Clicking a price takes you to that retailer’s own site, where their privacy policy applies, not ours. Some outbound links carry a code identifying Dewbirdy as the referrer so the store can pay a commission on the sale — where a link does carry one, the page it appears on says so. The code identifies this site, not you.

Prices, ratings and other people's data

The prices here are read from each store’s own public catalogue, and store ratings and review excerpts come from Google, attributed and linked on the page they appear on. None of that is information about you. How our crawler works.
