How the haul works
The cheapest price isn’t always the cheapest order.
Every product page shows you the cheapest store for that one product. Buy three products that way and you can end up with three parcels and three lots of postage.
Often it’s cheaper to buy everything from one slightly dearer store — especially if that gets you over its free-shipping bar. The haul does that sum for you.
How to use it
Add products
Tap Add to haul (or +) on a product page or in any list, up to eight products. Your haul stays in this browser — there’s no account.
We work out the delivered cost
We try every way of splitting your order across the stores that stock it, add each store’s postage, and find the cheapest total.
Buy from each store
You still buy from the stores themselves. Some let us send the whole order to their checkout in one go; for the rest, use Buy on each item.
An example
Say you want a sunscreen, a serum and a cream. Store A is cheapest for two of them, store B for the third. Buying each at its cheapest store costs $50 of products, plus $9 postage from each store — $68 delivered.
Store B also stocks the other two, for $4 more in total, and ships free over $50. Buying all three there costs $54 delivered. That’s $14 less, and one parcel instead of two.
These numbers are made up to show the sum.
What the total includes
Product prices from our latest check, plus postage at each store’s own stated rate. Where we can, we link the store’s shipping page and say when we read it, so you can check it yourself.
If one plan is cheapest but means more parcels, we also show what it costs to get it all in fewer deliveries, and what the whole haul costs at each store that stocks all of it.
What we leave out
- Stores that don’t publish postage. A lot of Australian shops tell you when shipping is free but not what it costs below that. We won’t guess, so they’re listed separately with their product prices only.
- Overseas stores. International shipping and duties aren’t something we can know in advance.
- Prices that look like a different size. A price far below everyone else’s is more often a mini or a sheet mask than a bargain, so we skip it and tell you we did.
Before you pay
Prices, stock and postage can change after we check, and postage can depend on your postcode. The store’s checkout always has the final total. More on how we check prices in our methodology.
